Behind the pages {end of January}
A few pages from the end of January. {Not as much art the past couple of weeks. Mostly notes, lists and text with water color edges and backgrounds.} I also reaquainted myself with the office supplies at my desk upstairs. {because for days after the horrible virus that Lukie and I had, the two flights of stairs down to my studio space exhausted me…} As a result of the current supply list, I have fallen in love with two things:
*Origami paper and
*Tape
I skipped the glue and went straight to paper and tape. The tape that wound up on my desk included: hockey tape, scotch tape, painters tape & some kind of metallic plumber’s tape. Quick and easy. No sticky fingers or mess to clean up. {What I’ve been in the mood for.} The origami paper is lightweight and comes in beautiful colors and patterns. {Found a kit on sale at the bookstore.}
Set design notes and a tea tag from the cup of tea I was drinking during the production meeting. Pretty paper taped in with a strip of hockey tape. {I confiscated a roll after realizing that it’s off-white and not white. It works beautifully with neutral papers.} From a technique point of view, I’ve been adding watercolor to the background of notes. {which is leading to discoveries about which pens have waterproof ink and which ones don’t. I’ll include a list soon.}
Also: movie labels, origami paper, ribbon, hidden notes, painter’s tape, word stickers and phone conversation doodles. {And a couple of pages waiting to be filled.}

Joshua does say come…
Love your beautiful, authentic journals. The blend of beauty and everyday life is powerful. It’s a good skill to be able to find beauty everywhere, and these pages sort of point the heart in that direction.
SWEET AS.
“It is a good skill to be able to find beauty everywhere…” True dat. {J – I always enjoy your insight and perspective.}
You are giving Pepper creative ideas…this can be good, but also not so good, ecspecially if she decides to glue the cat to her scrapbook because she thought the fur was really pretty! aaaahhh! J/K!!!!!
