Coffee & a thought for the day

Had evening coffee with a friend. Great time talking and looking over our little neighborhood lake.

After lots of conversation we got to the heart of a certain matter and ended with this question:

“How would this change if you could think about it without the expectations?”

We were talking about a specific scenario, but I can see where it applies to my art, my pages and pockets of my life. Sometimes we have to cut loose from the expectaions surrounding a situation in order to see/solve it.

Expectations {my own perfectionistic ideals or those of others} often cloud. Tonight, coffee and ripples on the water helped clear the view.

Coffee & tea

"Coffee"

Coffee and tea are a favorite subject matter for me. I enjoy the full range of experiences from waking up to the aroma of a first morning cup of coffee to the refreshment of afternoon tea with a friend. The artistic details surrounding coffee and tea are wonderful. Teacups, coffee beans and packaging from all over the world added to wonderful quotes and blessings make collages varied, interesting and fun to create.

quote reads:

“Coffee falls into the stomach…ideas begin to move,
things remembered arrive at full gallop
….the shafts of wit start up like sharpshooters,
similes arise; the paper is covered with ink.”

Honore de Balzac
