Keeping the mind active makes poor use of our most precious resource. True, the brain can work wonders in high gear. But it will do so much more if given the chance to slow down from time to time. Shifting the mind into lower gear can bring better health, inner calm, enhanced concentration and the ability to think more creatively.”

Sunday morning is our time to slow down and talk about all the things. We sleep late.  All the way until about 7:00am!  And then casually move to breakfast and coffee.   Sunday morning is all about  intentional lack of focus.  We let the conversation flow as it wants.  We chase ideas, watch birds and talk about everything from the weather to where we want to travel next.

Today, I sketched as we talked.  Moving a pen or a brush helps me think.  At one point we even cleared off the kitchen chalkboard and had a mini white board session.  We also sat and watched the bird feeder.  We spotted purple finches, a gray tufted titmouse and the cardinal couple who visit daily.
